A growing center of funding in the Midwest, Michigan\u2019s philanthropic community collectively makes more than $2 billion in grants per year, reports the Council of Michigan Foundations<\/a>. Including grantmakers based in other places as well, Candid reports more than $3 billion in grants for Michigan in 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Information about grants for Michigan flows through the Council of Michigan Foundations<\/a>.  According to the Council, funding priorities for Michigan grants include education, community and economic development, human services, arts and culture, and health. While there are some Michigan grantmakers who give statewide, a number of Michigan funders focus on particular cities or parts of the state, such as Detroit (Kresge Foundation), Flint (Mott Foundation), or southeast Michigan (Ralph C.
